"The Climatorium" is a potent response to the climate crisis in NYC, aligned with the IPCC's call for decarbonization within 8 years. Positioned at 250 Water Street, this project reimagines buildings for Net Zero performance, catalyzing "post-carbon thinking." It serves as the headquarters for the Civilian Climate Corps, a cornerstone of the 'Green New Deal,' converging administrative functions and transformative training under one roof. Beyond its functional role, the Climatorium fosters local community cohesion and reflects the essence of this emerging civic institution.

Amidst NYC's urban dynamism and climate vulnerabilities, this visionary endeavor encapsulates climate urgency, architectural innovation, and civic engagement. Rooted in resilience, it symbolizes progress towards a sustainable future amidst the city's urban complexity, making tangible strides towards a decarbonized world.

The Climatorium stands as a beacon of innovation, utilizing wood as its cornerstone material for both structure and facade, symbolizing a commitment to sustainable design. The building doesn't merely house programs; it orchestrates a structural narrative that encourages community engagement. The carefully placed frame seamlessly integrates public spaces, inviting local ommunities to partake in the building's offerings.

A distinctive feature is the accessible rooftop of the podium, a sprawling exterior expanse catering to the public, doubling as a sanctuary above street level during potential floods. The project's dual towers rise above the podium, serving as dedicated domains for the Climatorium's core functions—CCC's offices, workshops, and education facilities. Enriching the towers are multiple exterior pockets, fostering connections between various programs, users, and the city beyond.
