Pier 27 Wood Museum
2016
39 Queens Quay East, Toronto, ON
ASC 301 - Design Studio II
The function of the museum is to showcase wooden sculpture. Wood is a natural, organic material that is heavily used all over the world. The concept behind the design is to display the juxtaposition of wood in its natural and manipulated form through sculpture and building materials. The design is primarily split into two separate forms; the “wooden” form, which is oriented more naturally towards cardinal north, and the other form, which is oriented towards the man-made grid direction of Toronto.
